A Useful Guide on the Best Wrench Pipes Out There

One of the most important activities of God housekeeping and maintaining the perfect health of your home sweet home is probably plumbing. There are thus different tools for different purposes, and one of the most important components in these cases is a wrench. It is perhaps the most important and versatile tool and a pipe wrench is something you will find in the toolbox of every household.

The varieties of available pipe wrenches:

Today there are a vast number of variations of pipe wrenches that are available. But most of them are for niche uses. However, for the layman and the common worker with a medium level of expertise and experience in plumbing, there are six main domains or categories of pipe wrenches out there for you to choose from your specific use. They all come in a wide mix of materials from iron to aluminum alloys. It is noteworthy that they range in size from roughly 6 inches to around 60 inches, depending on the use and location – residential or industrial, as the case may be.

The straight pipe wrench:

This is perhaps the most common type to buy pipe wrench that is available today. It is the originally designed wrench – the traditional one, at that. It serves most of the purposes in case of residential use. It is most suitable for tightening and lodging almost all forms and types of threaded pipes.

The end pipe wrench:

In contrast to the straight pipe wrench, the jaws at the mouth of the end pipe wrench are tired at a slight angle originally. This is very effective in overcoming the slight disadvantages of a straight pipe wrench, that if it is more effective in working close to walls and also near the end of pipes.

The offset pipe wrench:

This pipe wrench can fit into very tight spots and very awkward angles which other wrenches would find impossible to work in. Compared to the straight pipe wrench, the jaws of this one are at ninety degrees to each other.

The compound leverage pipe wrench:

This, as the name suggests, compounds or effectively multiples the force that is applied to the pipe. When joints become very tight and almost immovable due to corrosion or the likes, this comes in very handy.

The chain pipe wrench:

Instead of using the traditional and most common hook jaw that is used in most pipe wrenches, the chain pipe wrench uses a chain, obviously. This is also very useful in case of a stick and very tight pipes.

The strap pipe wrench:

The strap wrench, as it is more commonly called, is like the chain pipe wrench, but it uses a nylon strap instead of a chain. This is useful to keep the pipe mar-free because it is probably polished or plated or painted.

So if you intend to buy pipe wrench make sure to keep in mind the above for efficient use. Because, without the correct tool for the proper job, not only would the work be ineffective, but mishaps might occur too.
